This is called the human “blind spot”. In psychology we work with, among other things, perception. That is, how we interpret and process our surroundings. Because lots of things are not as we see and interpret them.

In psychology we try to understand how humans function through various theoretical approaches, such as culture, biology, cognitive abilities etc. Why can we easily read the correct color in this word: RED while it takes us longer to identify the correct color in these words: RED, BLUE, ORANGE?
